Iuliana Kilchevskaya

My name is Iuliana Kilchevskaya. I was born and live in Chisinau, Moldova. I liked drawing since my childhood, so my parents took me to drawing classes and at the age of 15 I graduated from the Sciusev Art School. I tried poetry, music and dance, one of my poems was even printed in the Almanac. But these hobbies were temporary, and after graduating from art school there was no doubt that I had to continue my search in the field of visual arts. With this goal in mind, I went to the College of Technology. There was a wide field for creativity: we drew clothing designs, sewed and staged, often improvised, fashion shows. After graduating from high school, I knew that my career would have to do with drawing, so I enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and Crafts at the Pedagogical University, named after I. Creanga. It was my place of strength, where I received a daily charge of energy. Absolutely all subjects gave me joy and pleasure. All the arts I had ever dreamed of practicing were there: jewelry, ceramics, tapestry, batik, graphics, painting, art history, drawing, photo art, the basics of decorative arts and other subjects. Of course, the teachers of the institute, their support and passion for their work also played a role in my formation as an artist. We were taught by Masters of Arts, artists whose exhibitions we visited.

After graduating, I was invited to work in Russia, in St. Petersburg, at the exclusive Sophia Agency, where I had the unique opportunity to practice all the disciplines I had studied at the Institute: I painted walls and clothes, painted on glass and fabric, made paintings for sale. In St. Petersburg, I was lucky enough to attend painting classes with the abstract painter Vadim Boronenko, as well as poetry evenings, theaters, museums, and concerts... It was an unforgettable, amazing time in my life! After working in St. Petersburg for 4 years, I returned to my hometown of Chisinau and decided to give up my career as an artist. It took several years, but life without the work I loved lost its meaning. And then I started painting again, learned new painting techniques, attended online courses and master classes in Moscow and Italy. Now I have decided to open an online gallery to sell my paintings.

I don't choose a certain direction, because I like to paint both landscape and decorative paintings, abstraction and still life. I paint flowers with impasto technique and for other works I use different textures, liquid acrylic technique and gilding. I am inspired by Indian philosophy, feminine images and nature. I love to go deep into my inner world and do spiritual practices, so it's interesting for me to paint mandalas with natural elements.

I believe in miracles, so they happen in my life!
